Volunteers will have a spring in their step for charity appeal

-

VOLUNTEERS in Bredbury and Marple are being urged to back the Marie Curie charity’s Great Daffodil Appeal next month.

The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraising campaign, which takes places throughout March, but the charity needs people to sign up to volunteer now.

People can volunteer just two hours of their time to give out daffodil pins in exchange for a donation to help those living with a terminal illness and their families.

Julie Peters, community fundraiser for Stockport said: “We are calling on the people of Bredbury and Marple to help us make every daffodil count this year.

“All you have to do is encourage people to give a donation and wear a daffodil pin, it’s that simple.

“So round up your friends, family and colleagues and together we can help Marie Curie provide free confidential and practical support to more people affected by terminal illness who need it and research into better ways of caring for people living with a terminal illness.”

Last year the charity supported more than 50,000 people affected by terminal illness and it wants to reach more people affected by terminal illness.

Your local collections are at Morrisons from Friday March 10 to Sunday March 12 inclusive.

There is also a huge Manchester Street Collection scheduled to take place on Friday March 3 and Saturday March 4.
