STOCKPORT County have been in existence since 1883, providing structure to supporters Saturdays from season to season, with varying fortunes.

From the highs of an eighth place finish in Division One in 1998 to the lows of relegation to the Conference North more recently, the one constant amid all the ups, downs, victories, draws and defeats is a remarkably loyal fan base.

That loyalty has been tested more than ever in recent seasons, goodness knows we have suffered, and with little in the way of tangible assets it is a small wonder the club remains alive to this day.

But where there is life, there is hope and where there is love, there is passion. We passionate­ly believe supporters are the greatest asset of any club and deserve a greater influence over how their club is managed.

Consider this – had County supporters had £50k available to invest when the 2015 consortium was formed, a 10 per cent stake in Stockport County may have been acquired, and supporters could have played an even greater part in the slow but significan­t progress towards stability achieved since at the club.

Hypothetic­al of course, but with County Supporters’ help we really can make a difference.

We can leave the past in the past and work towards a better future, in the Football League.
