Around the world theme for festival
NEW Mills will celebrate the global community with “Around the World” as the theme of their 2017 Festival.
Once again New Mills will open its doors and streets to more than 20,000 visitors who flock to participate in more than 70 events, exhibitions and happenings for the annual Community Festival from September 8 to 24.
The festival is a twoweek annual celebration of community spirit through a diverse range of activities from talks and walks to concerts, gigs, an art trail and exhibitions, quizzes and performances with a spectacular lantern procession through The Torrs Gorge, ending in a Community Street Party in the centre of town.
The festival is organised by a committed group of volunteers from all walks of life who come from the local community and other neighbouring villages.
The committee give their skills, time and energy on an entirely voluntary basis to enrich community life.
