Mother’s day event at centre

-

MUMS can be shown a bit of appreciation this Mother’s Day with help from Merseyway shopping centre in Stockport.

The centre will open a flower patch on March 25 from 11am to 4pm, where children can pot a plant of their choice and take it home as a free gift for mum or granny. Gardeners will be on hand to help out and there will be a competition to win a hamper and shopping vouchers.

Entrants can post reasons they love their mum on Merseyway’s Facebook or Twitter page to be in with a chance of being selected.

The flower patch will be located outside Specsavers.

Brendan Webb, centre manager, said “We’re really excited to bring something different to the centre to celebrate Mothering Sunday. The flower patch offers a colourful, fun and free activity for children and gives them the opportunity to make something special and personal for their mum or grandma.”

Councillor Kate Butler said: “Giving flowers lets us show our mums, grandmas and women who are important in our lives how much we care for them.”
