Dog treats business Stockport homes in taking the biscuit green deal with firm

-

AN animal lover is really taking the biscuit with her new business.

Kate Robinson launched Breezie Boo, a home made dog treats firm that is named after her treasured pet Beagle, after finding that shop-bought biscuits often made her sick.

The home baker from Romiley said: “I decided to experiment by making some of my own treats for her. Not only did she absolutely love them, there were no ill effects on her tummy.

“I realised that I wanted to know exactly what was going in her treats.”

Having trialled them at a number of craft markets, Kate has now launched an online business with a full range of dog treats and accessories.

She provides treats that are low gluten and gluten-free and even grows her own mint, rosemary and blackcurrants to make sure they are pesticide and chemical-free.

“Many dog owners are unaware that there are a number of fruit and vegetables which are safe for their pets to eat,”

Kate added. “My product range is for treats only as dogs should get all their meat and protein from their main food source.”

A team of operatives working across neighbourhoods managed by Stockport Homes will manage and maintain grass, hedges, shrub, rose and flower beds, weeds and hard surfaces, ensuring all sites are clean, tidy and presentable.

Several apprenticeship roles, opportunities for placements and sponsorship to support community events will be created as a result of the contract.

Customers will also have access to information about services in their area through a portal which provides details on when work is scheduled to take place and when it has been completed.

Daniela Blomeley, contract manager at Glendale, said: “Supporting communities is always at the core of the work Glendale does and we’re pleased to be continuing our strong partnership with Stockport Homes.

“We want the tenants to feel proud of their gardens and communal areas and we’re looking forward to continuing our work to make green spaces places for local people to enjoy.”

Robin Burman, chairman of the board at Stockport Homes, said: “We have worked with Glendale for the last 10 years and are looking forward to continuing to deliver excellent greenspace services to meet customers’ needs and at the same time support our wider social, economic and wellbeing activities, through local employment and training opportunities, support to environmental improvements and community health and well-being activities.”
