-

MONEY will be raised for a worthy cause at a charity tea party at the Compass Point building, on Nangreave Road, Heaviley, on March 28 from 2pm.

It has been organised by the Knit and Natter group that meets there and as well as hot drinks there will be a raffle and knitted goods for sale.

Money raised will go to Parkinson’s UK and entry is £2.

The group hosts similar events throughout the year raising around £1,000 annually. Other beneficiaries have been McMillan Nurses and the Alzheimer’s Society.

A church in Hazel Grove is also having a spring fair. Short Street United Reformed Church is holding the event on March 25, from 10am to midday. There will be cakes, a raffle, tombola, stalls and refreshments.
