Weight loss mum aims to inspire healthier lifestyles

-

A BUSY mum has lost four stone and is using her weight loss success to inspire the community to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Claire Breeze, of Blythe Avenue, Bramhall, first decided to lose weight on a shopping trip for an outfit for her son’s christening 18 months ago and is now a weight loss coach herself.

The 43-year-old mum-of-one explained: “It was only once I started to try on clothes for my little boy’s christening that I realised just how big I had become.

“Leaving the shops in tears, I vowed to take control of my eating and my health and joined Weight Watchers that very night, just a few days before my son’s big day.”

Claire first signed up online and successfully lost two and a half stone before joining her local weight loss group in Bramhall. In just over a year she had gone from her original weight of 12 and a half stone to eight and a half.

Claire, a former headmistress, said: “I was born with a heart condition, which has always been monitored but, so far, has not caused me any difficulties.

“Being so heavy, I knew I was putting increased strain on my heart.

“I knew that eating badly and neglecting my health was doing nothing to keep my heart in good shape so I joined Weight Watchers, to look better, be able to buy fashionable clothes again and keep myself as healthy as possible.

“I now have much more energy, feel strong enough to keep up with a very energetic toddler and to launch a new career.

“I will one day need corrective surgery to fix the heart complaint, but know now that I’ll be facing that in the best possible shape.”

Claire now runs meetings at Queensgate Sports Club, Bramhall, (Tuesday 7pm) and Poynton Methodist Pre-School (Thursday 7pm and Saturday 9am from April 8).
