By late strike

-

The Hatters went closest to edging ahead with a winner when, after 78 minutes, Lloyd raced into the visitors’ area to unleash a shot that hit the inside of the near post, before skimming across the goalmouth and beyond the opposite upright.

But, ultimately, April began for County as two of the previous three months had done, with a share of the spoils in SK3.

Hatters boss Jim Gannon was left to reflect on County’s lack of a cutting edge in the final third which, he felt, had prevented his side from claiming all three points against in-form visitors.

“Nuneaton played well, and probably deserved something out of the game,” Gannon stated.

“But I’m a little bit disappointed we didn’t show that edge of quality needed to maximise the opportunities we had.

“There was plenty of effort. We worked really hard, got up the pitch and asked a few questions of them.

“But I didn’t think one goal would be enough. They score in every game and concede in every game. They’ve been quite prolific, and you can see the threats they have.”

The draw leaves the Hatters having suffered just one defeat in 19 league outings.

But with four of their last six matches ending all-square, they will be keen to establish a more consistent winning run over the season’s final five fixtures – starting with a trip to relegationthreatened Gainsborough Trinity on Saturday.
