A stitch in time for charity crafters

NEIGHBOURH­OOD charity crafters have received a donation of two brand new sewing machines from Brother.

The craft group make items for people in and around Stockport, supporting Early Essentials, Stepping Hill, Manchester Paediatric Unit, Bramhall Nursing Home, The Mill, Signpost for young carers and lots more.

Anna Rogers, a member of the craft group, said: “We are delighted with the donation of the Brother sewing machines.

“The group plan to run some beginner and more advanced sewing lessons to increase the group’s skills and attract new people to the group.

“You will be able to find out more on the group’s website and Facebook group, where you can also stay in touch with up coming events.”

The group’s events are open to all and there is a regular meeting at St Matthew’s Church, Grenville Street in Edgeley ,every second Saturday in the month.

The Rev Julie Johnson from St Matthew’s Church said: “I am amazed at both the talent and generosity of this group, which is incredibly friendly and welcoming.

“It is a pleasure to see them every month.”
