Artists boost the team at Arc Gallery
STOCKPORT-BASED Arc Centre and Gallery has been awarded funding from the Local Sustainability Fund to commission three established local artists to work alongside them for four months.
The three artists - Tamzin Forster, Lydia Meiying and Pentimento Ceramics and Print - started the Artist Residencies in March at the centre in Reddish.
The artists will be leading sessions with Arc’s team of volunteers to help them develop their skills, product development of ‘Arcware’ to sell to raise funds for the charity and running paid-for arts sessions available to the public in April, May and June.
An exhibition entitled ‘Adventures in Design!’ is launching on Saturday, June 24, alongside a Midsummer Art Sale, featuring work by a number of local makers and the artists in residence.
The exhibition will then continue for two months.
Centre manager Amy Whitehead said: “Developing a range of Arc products for sale will increase the charity’s sustainability.”
The spring and summer creative programme at Arc is now taking bookings at: http://arc-centre.org/ book-a-workshop/.
