Meet sleep out challenge and help homeless
THE Wellspring has a number of fundraising events taking place over the next few months.
The Wellspring is mainly a community -funded charity and it’s our fundraising events that are the lifeblood of the organisation.
Without the community of Stockport supporting our events, we would not be able to offer a service to homeless and disadvantaged people in Stockport.
What would the streets of Stockport be like without The Wellspring providing thousands of interventions and pieces of support work every year?
Would Stockport town centre look more like Piccadilly gardens in Manchester with a homeless person in every doorway?
How many more people would have died on our to raise much-needed funds for The Wellspring.
The sleep out is not intended to replicate homelessness but to raise awareness of the realities rough sleepers face every day.
If you would like to take part in the first ever Wellspring Sleepout please email lauren@thewellspring.co.uk and include your name, address and phone number.
If you are completing the challenge as a group of four, please include the name of each group member and email addresses and you will receive a registration form and information pack.
This event is FREE to take part, but we do set a minimum fundraising target of £50 per person or £200 for groups of four and you can kick this off by setting up an individual or group online fundraising page on Just Giving.
We still have places available for fundraising runners in the Great Manchester 10k run taking place on Sunday, May 28.
Wellspring places in the run are free in return for fundraising for The Wellspring and we don’t set anyone a fundraising target in the run.
