Seven Miles Out

- Rosemary Barratt

AFTER two fantastic weeks of fun over the Stockport Old Town Folk Festival, welcoming lots of new visitors who have discovered the delights of the area, we are back to our regular programme of events in Seven Miles Out – so we hope you can join us for some great entertainment.

We have an extra treat for live comedy lovers this week with the A Laugh In Stockport Old School Reunion night this Thursday from 7.15pm, featuring some of the funny favourites that established this ground-breaking comedy club. A night of hi-jinks and hilarity is guaranteed. Tickets are £3 on the door.

On Friday from 7.30pm we have our regular Twang! night hosted by those fabulous hard-working people from The Stockport Ukulele Players. Playing the ukulele has never been more popular and the ukulele workshop at the Folk Festival was well-attended once again with more than 20 participants of all ages.

Twang! attracts ukulele players from all over Cheshire for the monthly strum and sing-along, and it’s also a great opportunity to showcase your talents at the open mic. If you haven’t yet sampled Twang!, you really should make it a date!

This Saturday from 7.30pm we have our monthly music showcase Saturday Sessions organised by the wonderful Kamey McNamara of Community Music. This is always a great chance to see some of our town’s best musicians in an intimate setting and its completely free.
