Election is not for changing MPs but to give PM a mandate

-

IN these few weeks before the unexpected General Election on June 8, we are receiving political leaflets through the doors.

The Lib Dem councillor Lisa Smart, as before in 2015, has put herself and her policies at the top of the agenda, totally ignoring the hard work of our Hazel Grove MP William Wragg.

I have noticed over the years that Lib Dems take all the credit for getting things done as if William has done nothing.

Ms Smart is apparently lined up to be our next MP. Whatever gave her that idea?

The election is not specifically for changing MPs but for our Prime Minister to have a mandate for starting proper proceedings to leave the EU. I voted to leave.

I have been dismayed with contents of Lib Dem leaflets - always comments and untruths in the publicity and disrespect to the Conservatives.

Ms Smart’s conceit is evident. The Lib Dem party only has nine MPs, many well-known names lost their seats last time, with many Conservative gains.

Therefore, they are unable to be at the forefront of politics.

In the 2015 election, William won his seat with a 6,000 plus majority.

He has a very strong support network of Conservatives and we all help in this.

Just understand this please, Lisa, that William is very well liked and a successful MP and Hazel Grove is his constituency.

I am very pleased to have William Wragg as my member of Parliament. Mrs C M Bateson Hazel Grove
