Woodley fall off pace in Dinting pursuit

DIVISION 1 Dinting hosted Woodley and made 206-9 in their 45 overs with Martyn Knight hitting 109 and Matt Coleman 36 as Mike Mallett took 4-31.

Woodley fell behind the required rate and were eventually bowled out for 188 with Conor Cranwell making 48 and J Duggan 41 not out while Greg Harwick took 4-40 and Peter Hills 3-33.

In Division 2 Hazel Grove were asked to bat by visiting Hollingwor­th and saw the home side rack up a score of 188-7 thanks to Andy Tomlinson (52), Nick Hayward (38) and Rick Burke (36) while Sags Mohammed took 6-49.

In reply U Siddique hit a quickfire 39 but Hollingwor­th were all out for just 134 as Ian Halford took 4-13.

High Lane were bowled out for 122 by Offerton, A Davies taking 3-34 and J Thelwell 3-48. P Smith then hit 36 as Offerton scrambled to 125-7.

Compstall amassed a huge 343-6 at Stalybridg­e, S Jackson smashing 126 supported by P Giannasi with 61 and Sam Messih an unbeaten 71.

Stalybridg­e were then bowled out for just 133, S Barnes with 32 as Dylan Heginbotha­m took 3-34 and D Millen 5-25.

In Division 3, Woodley batted first at home to Dinting and made 167-8, P Cocks with 31 and J Trowsdale 54 not out as A Smallwood took 4-54. Andy Tomlinson then struck 32 and son Ethan a maiden senior half century with 55 but Dave Hotson took 4-26 and Will Adam 3-40 as Dinting were all out for 132.

In Division 4, Compstall were bowled out for 139 by visiting Stalybridg­e, C Bray hitting 43 and Rob Bradley 34 as J Beswick took 3-16 and P Coxon 36.

In a thrilling run chase Stalybridg­e came out on top as they reached their target with just one wicket remaining, H Hatton hitting 48 with D Davies taking 4-11.

Offerton were bowled out for just 96 by visiting High Lane with Anjan taking 5-18. S Pickles took 3-24 in the High Lane reply but the away side claimed a 5 wicket win closing on 100-5.
