Dancing dream comes true

-

A YOUNG woman is fulfilling her dream of becoming a professional dancer.

Chloe Hanson, of Talbot Street, Hazel Grove, is training at one of Europe’s premier dance schools, the Central School of Ballet in London.

Chloe, aged 18, a former student at Marple Hall School, Marple, has been dancing since she was 13 years old and is close to completing her first year at the school.

Selected from 400 applicants, Chloe was one of only 38 pupils to secure a place on this three-year degree course, to train and study for a BA (Hons) in professional dance and performance.

The main focus of the course is classical ballet, with contemporary dance as an additional subject, and it also includes tuition in choreography, Spanish dance, pilates, jazz, drama, Dalcroze eurhythmics, singing and contextual studies.

Chloe gained 10 GCSE at Marple Hall School and also studied dance at the Centre Pointe Vocational College in Denton.

She said: “I am really enjoying my first year at the Central School of Ballet it’s been hard work but fun too.

“We train at least six hours a day during the week and take classes on Saturday morning as well.

“You have to be dedicated to make it to the top of this profession and it’s my dream to be a dancer at one of the world’s leading dance companies when I graduate.

“The training is very challenging, similar to the training of the best athletes, but we are all motivated by the rewards of performing.”
