BID to make town great

-

STOCKPORT’S Business Improvement District (BID) is now live and, for at least the next five years, the team at Totally Stockport will be working hard to make Stockport town centre a great place for everyone.

First out of the starting blocks is a brand new town centre website featuring local news, events, jobs and a business directory.

www.totallystockport.co.uk is a vibrant and informative central source of information where businesses, shoppers, visitors and residents can find out more about what’s happening in the BID area, where to shop, what to eat, where to go and how to get there.

But like all great websites, Totally Stockport will evolve as the BID team gets down to the business of improving the town centre offering.

AS well as the website, the Totally Stockport team have published their quarterly magazines.

Look out for Totally Stockport’s first issue featuring local restaurateur Sam Buckley – is Stockport going to beat Manchester to a Michelin star?

Pick up your free copy at supermarkets across the borough.

About to be launched is a brand new town centre App, great for keeping up to date with promotions and offers.

And to help you find your way around the town centre, a new map will lead you to the best of Stockport’s shopping, eating, drinking and visitor attractions.

With new events planned – Totally Foodie weekend at the end of June and a music festival in September – there is lots to look forward to for everyone.

The Stockport BID will generate almost £2.5m of additional funding over the next five years, specifically ring-fenced for projects that will enhance the town centre’s offering.

First priorities are to make the town centre a safer and better place giving more choice where people will stay longer.
