Seven Miles Out

-

EVERY month we can hardly believe that Foodie Friday can get any busier but it always does proving that there are still so many people out there who are discovering the event for the first time.

The wonderful thing about Foodie Friday is that it creates such a brilliant atmosphere with people of all ages from all over the borough coming together for a social night out.

It’s become the place to hang out with old friends and meet new friends. We also love the fact that families come down with their young children and make a night of it. We can always find a home for a buggy in Seven Miles Out!

We think its very important that Foodie Friday gives young bands a platform to perform in front of a great crowd and this has resulted in many youngsters coming to the event with their friends, their parents and their grandparents. Foodie Friday feels like New Year’s Eve every month with people genuinely buzzing about the evening.

As we head towards summer, we are excited by just how many talented bands we have in our town, music is part of our DNA in Stockport.

For May’s Foodie Friday we have several first-time performers in Seven Miles Out so we hope you will pop in and lend your support. At 6.30pm, 14-year-old Lucy Bower and Izzy Preece,

pictured, will be playing some acoustic songs followed by an exciting young band - 11 Hours at 7pm.

At 7.30pm we welcome back talented singersongwriter Elmo Ashall-Kelly followed by another Seven Miles Out favourite Charlie Ingham at 8.15pm. At 8.45pm mesmerising duo Dylan and Alex aka The Printers take the stage followed by exciting young Bramhall band The Outsiders at 9.15pm who earlier this year won the Stockport Schools Battle of the Bands.

At 10.15pm we finish our evening’s entertainment with The Tall Faces, a great band not to be missed especially if you love classic mod tracks.

If you haven’t yet experienced Foodie Friday, please join us and check out all the great live music on offer which really makes you feel proud to come from Stockport. In the words of the iconic Frank Sidebottom, ‘Stockport is really fantastic. You know it is. It really is!’
