Now 100 are homeless as problem is growing
THE Wellspring is currently working with over 100 people who are homeless in Stockport.
Homelessness has been increasing at an alarming rate over the last 12 months, for all kinds of different reasons and The Wellspring continues to provide as much support as we can.
Over the next few months The Wellspring will be going through some changes, including rebranding the charity.
We have had a redesign service by Steve Williams at Little Devil Design.
I would highly recommend the service we’ve had from Little Devil Design, if you are looking for a brilliant designer for any aspect of your service you need to get in touch with littledevildesign.net
The main part of the restructuring of The Wellspring is the services we offer to homeless and disadvantaged people. Wellspring will be further developing our outreach services and will be providing a weekly outreach service on the streets of Stockport, doing all we can to get people off the streets.
Part of this outreach will be to engage with and provide support and options for people who choose to beg on the streets of Stockport.
Begging has very much increased over the last 12 months and Wellspring wants to ensure that we are doing all we can to reduce street begging in Stockport and provide people with opportunity’s and services, so they have no need to beg.
Wellspring will also be offering a brand new service which will provide proactive advice to organisations in Stockport who are affected by Shoplifting in Stockport.
Wellspring will provide a consultation and security review of organisations and give advice and support.
Wellspring will be using the skills of former shoplifters to provide this service.
The Wellspring has a number of fundraising events coming up, please support The Wellspring and attend or take part in one of our events.
