Seven Miles Out

- Rosemary Barratt

THIS Friday evening from 7.30pm we have our regular Twang! night hosted by those lovely community-spirited people from The Stockport Ukulele Players.

There is a ukulele revolution going on here in Stockport and it’s wonderful to see so many young people some as young as seven years old - wanting to pick up an instrument and join in.

Twang! attracts ukulele lovers from all over Cheshire for the monthly strum and sing along and it’s also a great opportunity to showcase your talents at the open mic.

This is a great night to get together with friends and family and enjoy playing and singing together.

If you haven’t yet had the Twang! experience, you really should make it a date.

This Saturday evening from 7.30pm we have our monthly music showcase, Saturday Sessions, organised by the very wonderful Kamey McNamara of Community Music.

This is always a great night to get out and see some of our town’s best bands and musicians in a great atmosphere and relaxed, intimate setting.

Playing this Saturday are Tony Curry and Charlie Pink performing melodic acoustic spoken word, Cafe Misfits - original music with a country blues twist, Ash Mountain - country/ folk/indie/blues with an Americana twist, and Pearldivers - full band laying original music.

Support your local community arts and music cafe and enjoy fantastic live entertainment free of charge.
