Chance to nominate your sporting heroes
SPORTS heroes will be honoured in this year’s Stockport Sports Awards.
The annual awards are now open for nominations and will calumniate in a ceremony to celebrate the town’s top sporting personalities and volunteers on Friday, September 29, at Houldsworth Golf Club.
Winners from the event will represent Stockport at the Greater Manchester Sports Awards in November.
The awards, which consist of nine categories in total, will be judged by panel with representatives from Sport Stockport (the Sports Council), Life Leisure and the School Sports Partnership.
Finalists in all categories will be invited to the awards winners announced.
John Hargreaves, Sport Stockport chairman, said: “This year’s event promises to be a fantastic celebration of sport in Stockport.
“We have so many individuals and clubs to be proud of in Stockport and we look forward to recognising their achievements the night.”
Nominations should cover achievements in the last 12 months (from September 2016 to August 2017) and fall into one of the nine categories available.
