New Mills bring down Dove Holes

IN Division 1 Dove Holes batted first at home to New Mills and were all out for 144, Dave Ward taking 5-42.

New Mills reached their target for the loss of five wickets, S Mills hitting 37 and J Duckworth 33 not out.

There was a thrilling game at Woodley where Mottram were the visitors, the away side elected to bat and scored 187-9, Jordan Irons with 45 and S Swann 42 while P Turner took 3-34. Woodley then secured a tight 1 wicket win from the penultimat­e ball with Jamie Kay making 33, Danny Kay 48 and Paul Turner an unbeaten 50.

Division 2 Chapel amassed 248-5 batting first at home to Offerton, A Hibbert with 97 and Joe Jackson 81 not out as A Davied took 4-48. J Kirkham then struck 37 but 5-35 from Keith Hallam and 3-34 from J Hawtin saw Offerton all out for just 76.

Compstall were asked to bat as they hosted High Lane and went on to make 224 all out, Phil Dunn with 35, P Giannasi 47 and B Heginbotha­m 50 as Josh Noel took 7-58.

High Lane then slumped to 75 all out, D Heginbotha­m taking 5-15.

In Division 3 Dinting chose to bat at home to Broadbotto­m and were all out for just 77 as M Greenhalgh took 3-8 and Gareth Whitney 3-27.

Broadbotto­m chased down their target for the loss of 4 wickets.

Hazel Grove asked visiting Tintwistle to bat first and were set 177-8, S Morris with 36, Si Barrow 32 and D Capes 50 with Colm Nunn taking 3-49.

Following a slow start Hazel Grove lost only two wickets in the chase as Chris Cooke hit 50, Andy Oldfield 37 and opener Joe Wilkinson carrying his bat for 66 in a total of 178-2.

Woodley were all out for 168 having been asked to bat by hosts Mottram, DA Oldland making 52 and S Richards 49.

S O’Mara then hit 58 but received little support as Mottram were bowled out for 154.

New Mills chose to bat at home to Dove Holes but were just 46 all out inside 17 overs, C Flint taking 6-26 and J Norton 4-20.

P Scowen then hit 30 not out as Dove holes secured a nine-wicket win.

High Lane chose to bat at home to Compstall in Division Four and were all out for 216, H Sheikh with 81, G Robinson 30 and Zunnor Choudhury 33.

Compstall were then all out for just 134, C Bray hitting 41 and Ravi Patel 47 but S Shehzad took 6-27 to which the visitors had no answer.

Offerton were bowled out for 122 by visiting Chapel, T Phipps taking 4-36 as S Pickles hit 31.

In reply J Gyte was 39 not out and S Barton hit 37 as Chapel eased to 123-3.

Stalybridg­e bowled out visiting Charleswor­th for just 56, N Woodman taking 6-18.

The home side went on to secure an eight wicket win, closing on 60-2.
