Seven Miles Out

-

WE have a great week of live events lined up for you in Seven Miles Out. This Thursday is General Election Day so we’re all going to need some light relief so why not join us for our regular hilarious A Laugh In Stockport Comedy Night.

This month we are delighted to welcome Aussie comic Ro Campbell, pictured

above, whose relentlessly entertaining and award-winning brand of cheeky, slightly dark humour has wowed audiences everywhere from Adelaide to Bangalore, Helsinki to Singapore and many places in between. Ro has provided tour support to Tom Stade, Russell Kane and Kevin Bridges who called him ‘one of the funniest blokes I know,’ done gruelling tours of Outback mining towns in Western Australia, and played to captive audiences in maximum security prisons.

No wonder he once called ALIS ‘one of the best mid-week gigs in the NorthWest.’

Opening the show is Rob Coleman. Rob is one of the sharpest gag writers on the UK comedy circuit, with an idiosyncratic, deadpan style. He also has amazing hair and plans to row across the Atlantic later this year. In the middle section we will have the usual mix of new talent and established comics previewing new material. And, as ever, your host is the increasingly brilliant and incomparable Danny Sutcliffe.

Tickets are £7 in advance from Seven Miles out or online at www.stockportcomedy. co.uk or £8 on the door.

On Friday we hope you’ll make an appointment with Dr Shadrack’s Surgery where a night of great live music is guaranteed to cure all ills. Dr Shadrack are a brilliant band who play a mixture of their own uplifting original songs and some storming covers. Joining them are the amazing Fish on a Stick who really shouldn’t be missed.

This Saturday night we are delighted to showcase one of the town’s hottest new bands, Scarlet Fever, who are quickly making a name for themselves with their mesmerising and charismatic live performances. Scarlet Fever went down a storm when they supported Kashmere in Seven Miles Out and recently played Live at The Guild.

We know that these young lads are destined for great things – you heard it here first. Joining them are The Mantells, another talented Stockport band who write brilliant upbeat songs and young band 11Hours playing only their second gig but already gathering a fan base.

It will be a brilliant atmosphere and it’s a free night so what’s not to love?

We hope you can join our fabulous community here in Stockport Old Town.
