Looking for apprentices - from 18 to 80!
SPECIALIST lender, Together, has launched this year’s apprenticeship scheme to give talented jobseekers the chance to kick-start their careers.
Places are available for six full-time apprentices to join the group’s two-year programme, based at its headquarters in Cheadle.
The scheme is open to students post A-level or equivalent and, for the first time, Together is offering ‘returnships’ – for people in later life who are keen to return to work or start a new career.
Successful candidates will study for various qualifications, such as NVQs or City and Guilds and will progress to a permanent role on completion.
Natalie Newton, Together’s academy manager, said: “Our apprenticeship scheme offers the best of both worlds - a permanent role with a good starting salary and the opportunity to build their experience and confidence in the workplace, gaining relevant skills and qualifications as they go along.
“This is the first year we are opening up our scheme not only to school or college leavers but also to the older generation, so anyone – whether they are 18 or 80 – can apply.
“This year’s intake could include former students looking to take their first steps in a new career or mums or dads eager to get back to work after bringing up children.”
Shauna Raikes, 19, joined as an apprentice in September 2016 and is working in the collections department. She said: “The apprenticeship programme is great. It’s really varied, with the chance to work in different departments and get involved with everything that’s going on, and there are great benefits too.”
Apprenticeships are available in departments including IT, human resources, customer care, quality assurance and mortgage processing.
