Seven Miles Out

-

OVER the years Seven Miles Out has been able to give a platform to many young local bands and it has been a pleasure to see them grow and develop.

We are privileged to have been able to establish a wonderful audience of people who enjoy and appreciate young musical talent and the benefits that this brings to bands starting out are far-reaching.

We have no doubt that some of our young bands will go on to follow in the footsteps of Blossoms and create more excitement for our town.

This Friday evening we are delighted to give the headline spot to a band who have always gone down a storm when they have played at Foodie Friday. Dear CAROLINE,

pictured, are a fast-rising four-piece indie/ alternative rock band, based in Greater Manchester.

Made up of brothers, Alfie and Joe Prior (both guitar and vocals), Jacob Saunders (bass guitar), and Nathaniel Jepegnanam (drums), they unleash an energetic sound, built on their high tempo tracks, primal rhythms, and extraordinary lyrical vernacular, spreading it across the stages of the English North.

The band use their music (written by Alfie and Joe) to explore themes socio-political, but also emotional, creating characters with their unique lyrical persona, and gothic image.

Having released two singles, Pretty Corpse (2016), and Caroline (2017), the band are making waves in Manchester’s famous Northern Quarter, as they fast become a focal part of the city’s underground musical community.

On Saturday we have our monthly retro vinyl night Sound and Vision run by the family team of Vicki, Ric and James Collard. This night has built up a wonderful clientele of people who enjoy the intimate club-like atmosphere and opportunity to have a dance to classic tracks from past decades played by The Vinyl Frontier.

The evening starts at 8pm and we encourage people to come down early to enjoy a great night of amazing music in lovely company as time flies when you’re having fun. We are massively grateful to the Collard family for creating such a fantastic night for people to enjoy and working so hard to promote it. They always go the extra mile and that’s what makes this night so special.

Please support our events that are helping to build a creative community here in Stockport Old Town. »»To find out more visit seven miles out arts.
