Can you spare some time to help us help homeless?

WE are currently recruiting volunteers at The Wellspring to fill a number of new roles at the project.

We are looking for meet and greet volunteers to assist on our busy reception area and for volunteers to work in befriending roles in our main room.

Volunteering at The Wellspring is very flexible, some people work once a week, some work once a month and others just volunteer whenever it is convenient for them to do so.

Volunteering is crucially important to us as without our volunteers we would not be able to offer a service at all.

We currently have over 350 volunteers.

Volunteering at The Wellspring is a great way to meet new people and I have seen hundreds of people make friends for life via volunteering at The Wellspring.

For those who are unable to apply online please phone Alex Knight on 0161-4776344 or call in to The Wellspring, Monday to Thursday 9am-8pm or Friday to Sunday 9am2pm and ask a member of project staff about becoming a volunteer.

We are always looking for volunteers with specific skills such as plumbing, electrical work, joinery, painting and decorating etc.

The Hatters Half Marathon takes place on Sunday, September 3 and The Wellspring has free places in the event to give away to people, in return for fundraising for The Wellspring.

The event is run and organised by Stockport County Fans Co-operative.

It is a fantastic local event that hundreds of people take part in.

Events like this are the lifeblood of The Wellspring, the fundraising that is made keeps the project going and expanding.

The Wellspring receives very little grant funding and not a penny from the council, government or the Lottery.
