Seven Miles Out

- Rosemary Barratt

THIS Friday from 7.30pm we have our regular Twang! night hosted by those lovely communityspirited people from The Stockport Ukulele Players.

There is a ukulele revolution going on here in Stockport and it’s wonderful to see so many young people – some as young as seven years old – wanting to pick up an instrument and join in.

Twang! attracts ukulele lovers from all over Cheshire for the monthly strum and sing-along and it’s also a great opportunity to showcase your talents at the Open Mic.

If you haven’t yet had the Twang! experience, you really should make it a date. It’s the most fun you can have with four strings.

This Saturday from 7.30pm we have our monthly music showcase Saturday Sessions organised by the very wonderful Kamey McNamara of Community Music.

This is always a great night to get out and see some of our town’s best bands and musicians in an intimate setting and it’s completely free.

Playing this Saturday are the talented acoustic singer-songwriter Jules Musgrove and alternative indie psychedelic rock band Jesus Knievel who previously supported Dead Sea Apes at their album launch held in Seven Miles Out.

Kamey is a great supporter of local musicians and always puts together a great night with a fantastic atmosphere.

Please support your local arts and music café here in Stockport Old Town and enjoy brilliant live music completely free of charge.
