THERE was double delight at Cheadle Hulme School on GCSE results day as twins scored the equivalent of a staggering 22 As between them.

Brother and sister Adam and Alina Woloczyk, 16, were celebrating after being awarded 11 A**s or A*s and 10 A**s or A*S respectively.

Adam, whose strongest subject is physics, would like to study A-levels and then medicine at university.

He said: “I was really surprised as I actually did better than I did in my mocks. Me and my sister would help each other with revising if we got stuck.”

Another of the leading students was Rachel Prince, who also achieved 11 A**s or A*s.

She even studied Greek outside of her timetabled lessons and said: “I’m really pleased and excited about starting my A Levels. If I could tell any students preparing for their GCSEs anything I’d say, don’t stress and just do the revision.”

Language lover Raphael McMahon was another straight A student, including three A*s in Spanish, Italian and German.

Izzy Pilling received 10 A*s, including French, and said: “I’m really happy, I guess I picked the right subjects for me, like French. I enjoy languages so making the right choice was important.”

Other high flyers included Nathan Fields, Phoebe Potts, Lily Danson, Jason Brown, Hannah Darwent and Libby Dolling.

Overall the school, on Claremont Road, had a 100 per cent pass rate.

Headteacher Lucy Pearson said: “Our students have worked incredibly hard and they can be really proud of their GCSE results which show that hard work does pay off.

“I’m extremely pleased at their successes, which have come through dedicated academic study and congratulate them for maintaining impressive commitments to sport, music, drama, community service and so much more besides.

“They have done themselves proud and can be really excited about the next stage of their education.”
