BROADCASTERS Chelsea Norris and Phil Trow will be amongst dog lovers gathered together for a special event this October.

The pair will be joining crowds at the St Ann’s Hospice Paws event, which will be taking place in Heaton Park on Sunday, October 8.

The three-kilometre sponsored dog walk, which is suitable for dogs and owners of all shapes and sizes, will see local people and their canine friends gathered together to raise money for the charity, which cares for people from its sites in Heald Green, Little Hulton and Wythenshawe Hospital.

As well as taking part in the walk, participants in the event will be invited to enter their dogs into one of the special dog show competition categories, which Chelsea and Phil will be judging on the day.

The event will open at 11.30am with the dog show starting at noon, followed by the sponsored walk at 1.30pm.

Eamonn O’Neal, chief executive of St Ann’s, said: “We’re looking forward to everyone joining us at what I’m sure will be a fun afternoon for all the family.

“As a charity right in the heart of our local community, events like this are the perfect way for us to meet lots of local people whilst raising money for our patients.

“Thanks in advance to anyone considering coming along. Thanks also to Chelsea and Phil for their support and for agreeing to judge the dog show.

“We’ve had some fantastic animals coming along to Paws in previous years, so I think it will be a ‘ruff’ best!”

Tickets cost £5 per dog – including a doggy bag with humans going free. To find out more or sign up, visit www.sah.org.uk/ paws or call the hospice on 0161 7025426. job picking the
