Club board shedding light on the burning
THIS is a report of the questions and answers, from the recent meeting between the boards of Stockport County and the Supporters Cooperative.
Q: Why is the club charging for a subscription to the online commentary?
A: Unfortunately, there were significant costs involved in setting a new system up, that wouldn’t allow it to be re-streamed. New software and User ID’s that couldn’t be replicated, was needed as well as pay wall provision.
It was not a case of just picking up and running with the existing set up.
There were also costs involved with setting up the Imagine feed and we use an entirely separate feed to the existing one used by Imagine for radio broadcasts.
The success of the system depends on take up by the fans.
Hopefully all the old subscribers will migrate to the new system.
The club do not anticipate further price increases over the next 2-3 years .
Q: Would it be possible for the club to look for 2 year sponsors deals for shirts so three new shirt changes every summer aren’t needed?
A: Families find County shirts are a popular item with their children as it is the one thing they will wear all the time. Research has shown that parents actually want a new shirt each season so they can replace the old worn out one!
On average the club sells 1,500 shirts per season ( 1,000 home / 250 each of the other two). This brings in a significant amount of income.
