LAST CHANCE TO GET SHARE OF £10,000 FOR YOUR GOOD CAUSE: FINAL TOKENS INSIDE

- PAUL HARRISON stockportexpress@menmedia.co.uk @stockportnews

HERE are the final two Vernon Jubilee Fund tokens – and now is the time to make them count.

A total of 16 community groups and charities will share the £10,000 fund set up by the Vernon Jubilee Fund – and the amount they receive will depend on how many tokens they receive.

This year’s 16 good causes are; Independent Options, The Weekend Day Care Centre for Dementia Care, AuKids, Stockport Foodbank, The Wellspring, Medequip4Kids, Stockport County Community Foundation, Friends of St Joseph’s, Love Reddish, 1st Hazel Grove Scout Group, Stroke Information, Family Art Attack, Bosden Farm Community Group, AVRO Heritage Museum, Beechwood Cancer Care Centre, and Stockport Buildings Preservation Trust.

If you have been saving tokens one to three over the past few weeks, now is the time to make them count.

Tokens can be submitted to the charity or community group directly or dropped in at any of the Vernon’s six local branches – in the town centre, Bramhall, Marple, Reddish, Hazel Grove and Poynton.

Ian Keeling, director of sales and marketing at the Vernon, said: “With over 2,450 tokens collected last year, each token was worth more than £4 to the charity and community groups involved. Your votes really do make a difference – be sure to drop off your tokens at our branches on or before September 13.”

Funding will then be allocated to groups in proportion to the votes they receive. Each charity or community group will receive a minimum of £100 and the remaining £8,400 will then be divided by the total number of votes received to determine the value of each vote.

Full details of the groups and their addresses can be found on the Vernon Building Society website at the vernon.co.uk.
