New startups are thriving in town
STOCKPORT Business Awards 2017 is now in its sixth year, having been set up by Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants back in 2012 to recognise and reward business excellence in the town.
The Most Promising Young Business category is always a popular one and this year was no different. It’s sponsored by NatWest bank, who have been backers of the awards since their inception. The shortlisted companies are AAI Global, Agile Automations and FilmMyMatch.
AAI Global was formed in 2015 by three individuals wanting to make a difference in the International Logistics and Freight Forwarding sectors.
As a business, AAI specialise in providing logistical services including Oceanfreight, Airfreight, European Road and Courier along with third party and fourth party logistics. AAI work with local, national and international business’s offering support, guidance and expert advice to companies that are new to importing and exporting along with established businesses looking to create a more efficient and effective supply chain.
Agile Automations are a market-forging technology company providing bespoke Robotics Process Automations (RPA) services to businesses in the UK and internationally. RPA involves the use of software applications as “robots” which can replicate the actions of a human being interacting with a computer system to efficiently and accurately complete tasks such as processing transactions, manipulating data and communicating with other systems or applications. The business was founded in September 2015 and has seen significant development since incorporation, both in business growth and in its proposition.
FilmMyMatch provides the opportunity for sports coaches and teams at all levels to improve performance through professional filming and analysis of games. They use the latest technology to capture the excitement and passion of live sporting events and showcase the talent that exists from grassroots to elite level. This footage can then be analysed and used for improvement. FilmMyMatch were recent winners of the Pioneer10 competition, hosted by Stockport Business & Innovation Centre, beating nine other businesses on the shortlist to win a package of support that will be the catalyst for future growth. Winners will be announced at a Black-Tie dinner at Stockport Town Hall on October 12 which 400 of Stockport’s finest business people will attend. »●Stockport Business Awards are organised by businesses for businesses.
