Beer week to return once again

-

ALE enthusiasts will be raising a glass when the third annual Stockport Beer Week returns to the town centre later this month.

The 11-day festival, from September 21 to October 1, is packed with events including beer tours and ‘meet the brewer’ evenings. It coincides with this year’s National Cask Ale Week and will raise money for Stockport CP, a charity that supports adults with physical and learning disabilities and autism spectrum conditions.

Councillor Kate Butler said: “Stockport Beer Week is all about celebrating Stockport’s booming food and drink scene. This year has more on offer than previous years and I’m looking forward to the historic pub walk.”

Stockport has eight breweries as well as a thriving pub scene and the festival is being organised by Stockport and South Manchester Campaign for Real Ale.

Beer Week co-ordinator Chris Walkden said: “Over the 11 days there’s something for everyone. Most events are free so come along and support local pubs, drink good beer and have a good time with fellow beer enthusiasts.”
