Club shortlisted for UK fitness awards
REDDISH-BASED Kingfisher Health Club has been shortlisted in the UK’s National Fitness Awards, an annual event which recognises achievement in gyms and health clubs across the UK.
The club is in the running for the Club of the Year category in the awards organised by Script Events and fitness industry magazine Workout.
In each category up to seven finalists have been selected and the club has now completed the next stage of the judging process, in which it showcased its work.
There was a visit to each finalist by a member of the awards team, who took a look around the facilities and talked to members and staff before compiling a report to pass on to the judging panel.
Trophies will be presented at a ceremony on December 1 at The Athena in Leicester.
Event director Judith Halkerston said: “All our shortlisted facilities should be really proud of their achievements in being chosen as a finalist, as the calibre of entries has been amazing.”
Kingsfisher Health Club owners Alan and Julie Marsh said: “We are all thrilled to be on the shortlist for this prestigious award and can’t wait for the final.
“It’s a huge boost for the staff giving them recognition for the hard work and enthusiasm they put in to make Kingfisher a great club.”
