Norfolk lead way after first fixtures

LOVE Lane’s much coveted new two man team event got underway on Sunday.

The green is getting better and better by the week and will soon be at full strength.

In the early games Victorious got the better of Viva Conejos with a 77-62 winning result.

Graham Southgate and Steve Waterhouse both won there singles matches to secure a winning start.

Elsewhere a close match saw Extream overcome The Pinky and The Pea by five shots thanks to a pairs victory.

It was a full house for Mad Millers Maulers as they swept aside You’re a Foot in Front with wins in all categories.

In that match Shaun Miller pipped Bev Beeley and Rodger Miller denied Gary Beeley.

Also on form were Team Norfolk which consists of the favourites on paper Chris Barlow and Ben Gloag.

The duo had two matches and didn’t drop a single point to go straight to the top of the table.

Leigh Smith and Ian Stokes also had a successful weekend with two victory’s for their team The SAS.

The last match saw them record an eye-catching 21-5 pairs success against Extream.

Next weekend Saturday/ Sunday the hut and green is closed for the Heaton Norris Bonfire.

Sunday action returns on the 12th with the second round of matches in the two man team.

The following week (19th) it’s a fixed pairs with the month concluded on the (26th) with a singles.
