NOVEMBER heralds another great month of events in Seven Miles Out and what better way to start than with our regular A Laugh In Stockport comedy night this Thursday, when we are delighted to welcome back the wonderful Allyson Smith.

Allyson is described by Jason Manford as ‘simply one of the funniest comedians I’ve ever worked with. She can play any crowd and always has them laughing their heads off. She’s gonna be a huge star.’

Since 2000, former school teacher Allyson has been tickling Canada’s comedy scene from the moment she put down the chalk brush and picked up a mic. Playing to packed venues across Canada and the UK, Allyson has crafted a sassy blend of in-your-face stand-up and hilariously insightful commentary.

It is her genuine and unique sense of humour, combined with excellent performance timing, that has made audiences laugh. Stewart Francis described the teacher-come-comic as ‘yet another hilarious Canadian with great hair.’

Allyson will be joined by MC Danny Sutcliffe and a host of top quality comedy performers. Doors open 7.15pm.

Tickets cost £7 from Seven Miles Out or online at www. stockportcomedy.co.uk, £8 on the door if any tickets are left.

This Friday at 7.30pm we have our monthly Twang! hosted by the Stockport Ukulele Players.

It’s a great opportunity to come along, bring your own instrument and join the strum-along and sing-along. We have ukuleles that you can borrow if you don’t have your own.

Twang! also features an Open Mic session in the middle of the evening when you can perform a song or a piece of music of your choosing. It’s a very inclusive affair and we welcome performers of all ages so don’t be shy.

On Saturday from 8pm Saturday Sessions takes over with our evening of live music put together by the wonderful Kamey McNamara. This month we are fundraising for Freddie’s Legacy, raising money for the Neonatal unit in Manchester, so please support this great cause and enjoy some amazing live music.

November’s line-up features Raintown Seers – ‘contemporary folk music with roots on both sides of the Atlantic,’ Pleasure Cell – ‘a fun-loving band playing alternative genuine pop songs,’ Paris Commune – ‘original songs, indie rock-style with jangly guitar, melodic violin and politically-charged lyrics’ and to end the evening with some classic covers we’re delighted to have a performance from the fabulous fun-loving Donna and The Kebabs.

Come and enjoy this free night of local music. U18’s are very welcome with a grown-up. If you are a musician or band who would like to play at Saturday Sessions you can contact Kamey by email at info@community-music.co.uk
