Bus com­pany are on the ball

A BUS com­pany has cel­e­brated the un­veil­ing of a new fleet by spon­sor­ing a foot­ball team.

Stage­coach Manch­ester has five new sin­gle-decker buses op­er­at­ing in the Stock­port area, each fit­ted with free Wi-Fi and con­tact­less pay­ment tech­nol­ogy.

And it has also spon­sored Brin­ning­ton United and the money has al­lowed the club to buy new home and away kits.

Elis­a­beth Tasker, man­ag­ing di­rec­tor at Stage­coach Manch­ester, said: “We care for the lo­cal com­mu­nity and see our­selves as a busi­ness which plays an in­te­gral part in lo­cal peo­ple’s daily lives.

“Work­ing to­gether with Brin­ning­ton United has been a plea­sure and it’s great to see the team wear­ing the kit with pride.

“Our new and im­proved buses will al­low peo­ple to travel in a more com­fort­able and prac­ti­cal en­vi­ron­ment and these new buses can carry more pas­sen­gers.”

Phil Palmer, from Brin­ning­ton United, added: “We’re so thank­ful for this gen­er­ous ges­ture from Stage­coach, it’s re­ally great to see the com­pany giv­ing back to a com­mu­nity who are fre­quent users of the ser­vice.”
