Matthew co-opted onto Cooperative board
FOLLOWING the recent AGM, the newly formed Supporters Cooperative Board held their first meeting on Wednesday of last week.
The crucial first business to deal with was to decide the various roles that board members would fulfil. In this respect the following were agreed:Chair: Pete Towey Vice Chair: Andy Plant Treasurer : Andy Burt Membership: Damian Beaumont Media & Communications: Ian Brown.
As a result of there being four vacancies at the AGM, and only three nominations, a single vacancy still existed on the board, and it was with enthusiasm it was agreed to co-opt Matthew White onto the board for the ensuing year.
Matthew is Stockport born and bred, attending Banks Lane and Mile End schools. He is well known both for his connections in Brazil, having lived in Rio de Janeiro for 13 years, and for his long association not only with County but at Offerton Cricket Club where he sports the flannels to distinction.
Having worked in The Hague for the International Baccalaureate, Matthew currently works for NCC Education specialising in digital learning and assessment, and states that his first match was in the early 1970s and, surprisingly for the period, it was a win!
Matthew will be a fine addition to the board!
The board then went on to discuss future activities. Consideration of a staging a membership drive was deferred until the next meeting, but a raft of events were agreed upon.
