Thousands join hunt for missing pet dog Lottie

-

A HUGE search involving more than 7,000 people is bidding to find a beloved stolen pet so she can be returned home for Christmas.

Paul and Lorraine Moores, 53 and 50, have begged for the return of Staffordshire bull terrier Lottie, who was taken from their back garden on Thornholme Road, Marple, six weeks ago.

Since then a huge campaign to find her has sprung up with a Facebook group including 7,300 members and leaflets pushed through 1,000 doors.

A reward of £1,000 for her return has also been offered and an awareness raising walk held, but so far all efforts have proved fruitless.

Paul said: “It would mean the world to get her back before Christmas as it would be empty without her. We just hope someone’s conscience gets pricked.

“We are pursuing every line we can and the support has been fantastic but unfortunately it is not producing any results.

“We want to keep the awareness up and we’ve had lots of leads but nothing concrete. We have not given up and are keeping the faith but it is difficult after six weeks.”

Members of the Find Lottie Facebook page share information and potential sightings of her.

And on Sunday, 20 people – many with their own dog – went on the awareness raising walk around Marple.

Paul and Lorraine, who have two grown up children, fear Lottie has been taken out of the area and could have been stolen to be a fighting dog.

She was taken on October 27 at around 10pm and police have since shared the appeal via their own social media.

At the time of her disappearance Lottie was wearing a plain black collar.

Paul added: “My wife is finding it very difficult, it is the not knowing and wondering what someone could be doing to her.

“Even if someone rang to say we have got her and we are not giving her back that would be something, at least we would know she was alright.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or Paul on 07860 464621.
