Don’t be alone at this time of year

- JONATHAN BILLINGS Chief Executive Officer at The Wellspring

CHRISTMAS is always such a busy time at The Wellspring, the project will be open every day over Christmas and New Year.

The kitchen volunteer rota for The Wellspring was fully booked in May!

We are so grateful to have the support of so many volunteers at The Wellspring.

Christmas day is a very popular day for people wanting to volunteer and give something back.

Christmas can be such a challenging time for many people.

Being on the streets at Christmas is certainly no fun.

Cold weather provision is now in place in Stockport, meaning that most homeless people will be offered accommodation.

Some people however refuse to be accommodated in hostels and provisions where a large empty room is opened for people to share a space sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor.

It’s not difficult to see why people would refuse this kind accommodation.

Stockport is lacking a project that provides not only accommodation but intensive support that has an emphasis on changing people’s lives for the better instead of people treading water, stuck in a hostel system and the provider sitting back counting the profits.

The Wellspring Christmas Dinner Campaign is going very well.

We ask for supporters to donate £5 so we can provide people in need with a full Christmas dinner and a gift. of

Donations can be made online via www. thewellspring.co.uk or by a texting XMDC17£5 to 70070.

Donations to this campaign not only provide people with a Christmas meal but provide vital funds to keep The Wellspring project improving.

This Christmas we are reaching out to local people and families in need.

We want to ensure that as many Stockport people enjoy this Christmas.

We will be delivering Christmas food and hampers to anyone who feels they need a little help in that department this Christmas.

Please get in touch with the project staff at The Wellspring if you would like a food hamper or if you know a family that needs one.

The Wellspring can be contacted on 0161-4776344 or via our website thewellspring.co.uk

Please don’t be alone this Christmas time, the Wellspring is open and welcomes anyone who comes along.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all.
