A huge thanks to the County supporters
THERE was much conviviality in the air as the Supporters Cooperative and SCAN joined forces for an event that had County fans cheering and singing at the Spinning Top.
The event was basically the Cooperative’s annual Christmas Cavort wrapped around some SCAN Presentations, and while County hero Terry Park could not make it we had Les Bradd, Mark Leigh, David Booth and Tony Coyle on the premises and enjoying every minute of it. As far as the Cavort was concerned a very relaxed atmosphere prevailed, the only tension being wondering whether Santa would arrive or not.
That was for later however, as there was a table-top quiz – and very enjoyable it was too. Matty White’s team, Nutbush Village Idiots, won out, with twins Keith and Kevin Lee scooping the coveted booby prize.
Landlord Mike Swann laid on some excellent food, and later on there was an opportunity for Mike to hand the Cooperative a cheque for £414 being the ten per cent donation from takings to the Cooperative’s Guardian account.
That fine gesture drew a loud ovation from those present.
On to the SCAN event then and the ‘will he, won’t he?’ bit was finally ended when Les Bradd happily showed up to grace the event.
Les received his SCAN certificate from Ian Lancashire, giving rise to much singing and chanting .
Marcus Heap introduced Tony Coyle , and then presented Mark Leigh with his certificate to round the event off.
