Total commitment to boost our town
TOTALLY Stockport is totally committed to deliver on its promise to attract more people into the town centre, more regularly.
The BID team aim to create a sustainable town centre by working with partners to provide greater choice, to address empty shops by supporting and encouraging new businesses, to establish a cleaner and safer environment and to assist with easier parking.
The January sales are well underway and there are plenty of great bargains to be had for savvy shoppers.
I’m sure shopping for Christmas 2018 has already started.
Plans for this year’s Stockport Christmas celebrations are already underway too with Totally Stockport working with Merseyway and the council to bring more exciting events for 2018.
For BID levy-payers Totally Stockport has been working to save businesses costs through Meercat’s Joint Procurement Scheme. Savings of £22,500 have already been identified with participating levy-payers saving more than their bid-levy contribution.
We want everyone to feel safe too, so look out for the Safer Stockport card which will be delivered to town centre businesses soon.
Creating a digital Stockport is edging nearer – we are currently undertaking a scoping exercise to identify suitable locations to install transmitters for free town centre Wi-Fi and everyone can benefit.
News of these and other projects will be included in the next issue of Totally Stockport magazine. The spring edition will be out at the end of February.
Have you seen how the new leisure area at Redrock and Princes Street is brightening up the town?
The whole area is especially welcoming, lit up by the bright lights of The Light cinema accompanied by the mouth-watering aromas drifting out of Zizzi and Pizza Express.
From today (January 24), Loungers’ newest Berretto Lounge will also be open.
Next door, The Gym Group, which let you sign up with no contract, will be opening soon. »●To find out more about Totally Stockport, email the BID manager at paul.taylor@totallystockport.co.uk.
