Strictly star to be at charity dance-off

-

STOCKPORT children’s disability charity Seashell Trust is staging a Strictly Come Dancing-style evening.

Eight business leaders are in training in advance of the dance-off in front of Strictly favourite Robin Windsor.

The event, on Saturday, April 28, will decide who will lift the Seashell Trust glitter ball at the RollsRoyce McLaren showroom in Wilmslow.

Professional dancers will be putting the novices through their paces for 10 weeks until the big night, when each couple will perform their dances in front of 300 Seashell supporters and guests.

The eight business lead- ers will be kept under wraps for now, but Brown Shipley’s Gavin Wiggans and Amy Townsend of Ultimate have revealed they will be putting on their dancing shoes.

Wendy Bray, fundraiser from the Seashell Trust, said: “We had wanted to shake up our ball for a while as there are so many that follow the same format.

“We pride ourselves on delivering high quality events that are a little different so this felt like the perfect one.

“We had so much interest from the business community that we even have a waiting list to take part.

“Our ‘stars of the show’ will be revealed a little closer to the event, although we know there is already a lot of speculation about who will be slipping on the sequins.”

To sponsor the event or book a place, call 0161 610 0170 or email jo.barber@seashelltrust.org.uk. Tables of 10 cost £750, individuals £80.
