Foodie event aiming for extra specially good Friday

-

THIS month falls Foodie Friday falls on Good Friday and we are set for what we hope will be one of our busiest events ever.

The last time this happened was two years ago in 2016 and Good Friday Foodie Friday broke all records for footfall.

The atmosphere was electric with families and friends coming together from all over the borough and beyond to celebrate the start of the Big Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

This month we showcase the widest possible choice of delicious hot street food from around the world and are delighted to welcome back 100 per cent vegan offer Los Antojitos and local trader Oh Mei Dumpling, who returns after giving birth to her own beautiful little dumpling.

Our talented live performers offer something for everyone in the Market Hall, with entertainment from local performers Mercy Singers, The Stockport Ukulele Players, Lucy and Izzy, The Tall Faces and Stockport’s awesome Blank Cheque

(see right) who always bring the party to Foodie Friday.

Every month Foodie Friday is still attracting hundreds of new visitors and the event is one of the most popular outdoor food festivals in the North West, which led to us being awarded the Best Pop Up Event at the 2016 Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards.

Over the past year we have been very grateful for the sponsorship support of Robinson’s Brewery, Totally Stockport, the BID company and Stockport’s award-winning software provider CDL, who came on board as our event sponsor last year.

CDL is a market leading technology company, certified by the Top Employers Institute as one of the UK’s Top Employers and who are very committed to supporting local events like Foodie Friday that bring the community together for the good of the town.

We believe Foodie Friday is an important calendar event that has helped to shape Stockport’s identity as a food and drink destination by bringing people into the town centre for a unique evening of food, drink and live music.

Foodie Friday takes place from 6pm to 9pm in the Market Place and Market Hall but the fun continues at all the local venues such as Bakers Vaults, Remedy Bar, The Petersgate Tap and Seven Miles Out Arts Centre, where there’s live music from 6pm until late.

Why not join us for a cracking good start to your big Easter weekend here in Stockport Old Town?
