ARE you a guy who dares to bare? Oh, and do it on stage in front of a few hundred people while singing and dancing?
If the answer is yes, then we have the perfect show for you when we audition a cast for our summer production of The Full Monty!
Back in Stockport as part of the 30th anniversary of NK Theatre Arts, the performances will take place from June 20-23 and we are auditioning for the show next week.
The musical version of the hit UK film is actually set in Buffalo, New York, where we follow six unemployed steel workers Jerry, Dave, Malcom, Ethan, Harold and Noah “Horse” Simmons who are low on both cash and prospects and decide to present a strip act at their local club after seeing their wives’ enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales.
One of them, Jerry, declares that their show will be better than the Chippendales because they’ll go ‘The Full Monty’ (all the way!).
As they prepare for their show, they work through their fears, self-consciousness and anxieties, overcome their demons and find strength in their camaraderie.
The musical is a laugh out loud comedy with some fantastic songs and all of the bits you will remember from the 1997 film.
