Hatters are rolling into the play-offs

- FAN’S VIEW IAN DOOLEY

TAMWORTH arrived and were conquered. We went to North Ferriby and they were beaten in much the same way – County just keep on rolling!

Four wins became five became six which, in my eyes at least, mean, barring something extraordinary, we’ll make the play offs no problem, the only question for debate is, will it be fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh?

I think the top three are out of sight but those six wins on the trot and other teams looking like they’ve hit the buffers all mean we’re play-off bound.

I don’t want to get too blasé because in those games BPA, Tamworth and North Ferriby we had a period in the game where we could have thrown all the points away.

At Bradford we allowed the home team to draw level after leading 2-0, against Tamworth we were guilty of poor defending that allowed them a sniff of a point when we conceded late in the game and even against Ferriby there were times in the game when it looked like all our earlier missed chances could have let the Humberside Men off the hook.

The fact we didn’t must be put down to perseverance and a far amount of tactical nous from the manager, against better teams, like those we’ll meet in the play-offs, those chances must be put away because the likes of Harrogate or Brackley will punish us dearly.

At the Eon Visual Media Stadium, the home of North Ferriby there was a case in point. We won 3-1 and a great win it was however we missed so many chances, Jason Oswell had two free headers, as did Michael Clarke, both Rhys Turner and Matty Warburton had numerous chances, we hit the woodwork three time to my reckoning.

On another day we might need to be that clinical in front of goal rather than that wasteful.

For now though, we’re riding high, six wins on the bounce put us top of the form guide, Jason and Matty have started to find the back of the net again and the travelling faithful are taking over every away ground we travel to.

It’s great to be a County supporter.

By now we may have added a seventh, it’s not out of our reach, we’ve beaten Kidderminster once this season so why not again?

And any points we take of a play-off rival can’t be bad.
