Busy weekend perfect way to celebrate a

WITH James Gannon’s County side heading for the play-offs, this weekend offers County supporters an opportunit­y to celebrate the club’s successes this season and offer support as the team prepares to add the finishing touches.

There will be at least one game for the blues to play after this Saturday’s encounter with Darlington, starting almost certainly with a home tie in the Play Off Quarter Finals against Chorley , Spennymoor or a late dark horse (maybe Bradford Park Avenue), and the form of Gannon’s men suggests that they have what it takes to secure promotion this time.

So, Saturday will be a celebratio­n, and a prelude to even more excitement, and a large crowd will be expected to turn out for the 3 o’clock kick off at Edgeley Park.

The Stockport County Supporters Cooperativ­e will of course be supporting the team, and, as usual there will be Cooperativ­e Board members present in the Cheadle End Cabin before the game to enable members to contact us, renew their membership­s (still only £12 pa), or purchase a County shirt for £10 in aid of the Guardian Account. The cabin will be open between 1.30 and 2.40pm.

Later on this Saturday, attention switches to the Spinning Top where we are holding another ‘County Quiz.’ This is a very popular event, and hosted again by Nick Lee, is sure to go down well. Starting at 6.45pm this gives County supporters time to pop into the Bungalow straight after the game and witness the SCAN event in honour of Arthur Wharton, and other County Legends before heading off to the ST.
