Drug-fuelled mum assaulted PC

-

A MUM gave a policewoman a black eye and also injured two other officers during a white wine and cocaine-fuelled attack, a court heard.

Beauty therapist Sarah Fallows hit Pc Tracey Hallworth in the face and also spat at and kicked the other officers during a drunken meltdown.

Fallows, 31, from Bramhall had been snorting cocaine and boozing after a row with her boyfriend and claimed she was suffering from borderline personality disorder.

But Pc Hallworth told magistrates in a statement: “Her actions were unjustified. As a police officer you expect some people to be aggressive but this was too far.

“I don’t expect to have to go home to my four-yearold granddaughter and explain why her nanna has a black eye.”

At Stockport magistrates’ court Fallows admitted three charges of assaulting police and also criminal damage to a pair of handcuffs.

But she avoided an immediate jail term because of her ‘personal difficulties.’

A judge said she should instead pay Pc Hallworth £100 compensation and the other officers, named as Pc Luke Osbaldeston and Pc Rachel Walton, £150 damages between them.

During the hearing, Fallows wiped away tears as she insisted she had now cut down her drinking – to two bottles of wine at a weekend – and given up cocaine during the week.

Officers were called to the home of Fallows’ mother in the Edgeley area of Stockport at around 6pm on October 25 last year. Prosecutor Eileen Rogers said the defendant’s mother was ‘worried’ as her daughter seemed to be having a mental health problem, potentially caused by abusing alcohol.

“Officers tried to detain her and she spat at, punched and kicked Pc Walton and Pc Obaldeston,” Ms Rogers said.

“They suffered cuts and grazes to their hands. She was taken to the hospital and, shortly after, three officers attended, including Pc Hallworth.

“Fallows was very distressed and continued to shout and scream. When Pc Hallworth tried to calm her down, she punched the officer in the face, sustaining a black eye.” Defence lawyer Shane O’Neill said: “She has no recollection of what happened.”

Fallows was sentenced to an eight-week jail term, suspended for a year.
