Working together we can all help to solve homelessness
IT is now 12 months since Andy Burnham became the Mayor of Greater Manchester.
One of the priorities that Andy has set himself is to eradicate rough sleeping on the streets of Greater Manchester by 2020.
The Wellspring is part of Andy Burnham’s Greater Manchester Homelessness Action Network and it was a pleasure to speak at Andy’s 12-month update event last week.
All homelessness services and other public and private services that work or deal with issues that affect homeless people have to realise that we are all part of the problem when it comes to homelessness on our streets and in our communities.
Working together much closer and providing better support and services is the only way that we can all be part of the solution to homelessness.
Andy Burnham has put a great deal of work in to this so far and I very much support the changes he is trying to make.
It is being reported to us that both very strong heroin and spice is being sold on the streets of Stockport, this is causing many problems in the homeless community.
In the past week numerous people have been admitted to hospital with one of these people in intensive care.
The Wellspring can provide anyone with Drug and Alcohol advice and support any day of the year.
If you are suffering from an addiction, then we can put you in touch with many support services.
