Victoria ease to Cheshire win at TRC

CHESHIRE’S top club competition got underway on Saturday with several local clubs involved.

The vastly improved Victoria Bowling Club from Offerton travelled to Comberbach to face TRC.

With the green playing slightly sluggishly, Victoria wasted no time in opening up an early lead in the match.

The final score of 231-157 to The Vic reflected their total dominance and set up a second round tie with Wirral’s Oxton Cons.

Elsewhere, Poynton Sports – slightly disjointed from several player exits – still had too much power for Hoylake Central winning 232-192.

That result sets up Sports with the mighty fire power of last season’s runners up Lloyds Hotel from Chorlton.

The other result of interest from round one was that champions Castle Private had few headaches defeating Heswall comfortably.
