Iddon back on his bike for Snetterton

- MOTOR SPORT MIKE PETCH

CHRISTIAN Iddon is looking forward to getting back on track this weekend, as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship heads to Snetterton in Norfolk following his accident at Oulton Park last time out.

Iddon, from Stockport, came off his TYCO BMW during free practice for the Cheshire round of the series, leaving him side-lined in front of his ‘home’ fans, when he broke several bones in his hand.

“It’s felt like a long old break since Oulton,” explained Christian. “But the six-week gap following the last round has been a bit of a blessing really, as it’s given me time to get fixed up. Rehab has gone well. I’ve spent time away in the Isle of Man supporting the team and in the hyperbaric chamber before returning back to my normal training schedule.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back on the bike and hoping to really get my season started, I think I’m the only rider not to have tested or raced during the summer break so that’s less than ideal but I’m confident we can be strong from the outset, I need to focus on getting back in the showdown, I’m twenty-two points outside right now, but with twenty-five on offer for a win, it’s more than doable to get back up there and push on”.

Snetterton will host two sixteen lap races for the BSB, with free practice starting on Friday 15th June, qualifying takes place on Saturday 16th, and race day on Sunday 17th.
